About the person and the business
Hill Healthy Gardens and Maintenance (ABN 39899224903) commenced as a trading name in December 2021. I am Chris Patterson, owner, and sole operator of this business. I have previously worked as a groundsman for an accommodation provider, maintaining a five-acre block and homes within the community. In that role, I made repairs to buildings as required, maintained the grounds and gardens, repaired fencing and maintained a waste water treatment plant. I will work to improve your home or business by mowing, trimming edges and hedges, weeding, and removal of palm trees or other unwanted trees generally under three metres. I am able to repair leaking taps and clear blocked drains. Should a plumber be required, I can assist with a referral. I can repair holes in gyprock or fibro cement and other general handyman type work, including breaking up and removing brickwork and concrete, deck maintenance and repairs.
What's In A Name
I acknowledge both my parents who have passed away. For my Mum, who taught me so much about life and my father, who installed in me a mechanical mind which led me to fixing and building many things. Mum’s maiden name was van den Heuvel which means ‘from the hill’ with Heuvel meaning ‘mound’ or ‘little hill’. A hill can be an obstacle or an opportunity; to me, they are family - I love hills. Mum had many challenges in her life but maintained a stoic outlook with love. Through her, I learnt to face any challenge head on, and no job is too big (or no hill too steep). Healthy is a way of being and I promote this through being mindful of pesticides and other chemicals, allowing nature to nurture. I use hand tools or electric tools and avoid petroleum fuels for equipment. My vehicle uses diesel but I am keeping an eye on the availability of a suitable electric vehicle for use at the Australian Electric Vehicle Association website.
